Plain-English summary

Horton Vans, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2006-2013 cargo trailers manufactured between January 1, 2006, and April 25, 2013. The recall affects trailers equipped with a Fastec-brand door lock. The defect involves the possibility of removing the key in a way that jams the deadbolt.

If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. This could trap a person inside the trailer, preventing them from exiting without using the emergency exit, which increases the risk of injury.

Horton Vans will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the lock cylinders free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Horton Vans at 1-706-485-4383 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505.
