The vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) no. 108 regarding lamps and reflective devices. Specifically, the fog lamps may remain illuminated while the high beam headlights are on, and the daytime running lights are not deactivated when the headlight control is switched to the "on" position. This combination of lights may be too bright for oncoming traffic, potentially distracting drivers and increasing the risk of a crash.
