PACCAR Incorporated is recalling certain 2027 Peterbilt and Kenworth vehicles due to a defect in the power distribution center (PDC) box. The PDC box may be contaminated with oil, which could result in a loss of drive power, Antilock Brake System (ABS) functionality, exterior lighting, windshield wipers, or the defogging system. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 103, 104, and 108.

The affected models include the Peterbilt 536, 537, 548, 567, 579, and 589, as well as the Kenworth T280, T380, T480, T680, T880, and W990. A loss of lighting, windshield wipers, ABS function, or drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect the PDC serial numbers and replace the PDC boxes as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed on September 25, 2026.
