This issue can delay the application and release of the rear service brakes, as well as the trailer gladhand application times. Consequently, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
The delayed brake response time associated with this defect can increase the risk of a crash. The recall affects 58 units of the 2027 Peterbilt 548 model.
