These vehicles are equipped with Sure Power-brand battery equalizers or DC-DC converters that contain a specific epoxy sealing compound. This compound, used for electrical insulation, was found to be capable of conducting electricity after being exposed to heat.

If the potting compound is exposed to heat and conducts electricity, there is an increased risk of a vehicle fire and personal injury. The recall affects 828 vehicles in total.
