In the affected vehicles, the rearview camera image may continue to be displayed on the infotainment screen even after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. A rearview image that persists after backing may distract the driver, creating an increased risk of a crash. These vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111 concerning rear visibility.

Approximately 12,219 vehicles are affected by this recall. Owners should contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 for more information.

The remedy involves a free software update to the SYNC module. Dealers will perform this update at no charge, and owner notification letters were mailed on June 18, 2025.
