Chrysler Pacifica side curtain airbag connectors may be improperly secured

Chrysler is recalling certain 2020-2023 Pacifica and Voyager vehicles because an improperly secured side curtain airbag connector may prevent the airbags from deploying.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: Risk-of-harm defect where a restraint may not deploy in a crash, with no death or injury reported in the NHTSA record.

Plain-English summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Pacifica and 2020-2021 and 2023 Voyager vehicles under NHTSA campaign number 24V793000. The potential number of units affected is 26.

An improperly secured connector for the side curtain air bags may prevent the air bags from deploying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 214, "Side Impact Protection," and 226, "Ejection Mitigation." According to NHTSA, an air bag that does not deploy during a crash increases the risk of injury.

Dealers will secure the connector free of charge. The recall record states all vehicles have been remedied. Owner notification letters were mailed October 22, 2024.
