When the vehicle's Controller Area Network (CAN) communications are interrupted and the truck enters limp mode, the ECU can send an incorrect accelerator pedal signal. This may result in sudden unintended acceleration, which increases the risk of a crash. The defect violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 124 for Accelerator Control Systems.
Approximately 2,098 vehicles are affected by this recall. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning November 26, 2024. Dealers will reprogram the ECU software at no cost to owners.
