Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain Bendix EC80 Advanced Electronic Control Units (ECU) with part numbers K163499 and K190048. The recall addresses a defect where electrical noise and low signal to the power line carrier may cause the ECU to incorrectly process commands or stop working entirely.
This defect may result in diminished or lost functionality of critical safety systems, including Automatic Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Active Cruise Control, and the Collision Mitigation System. The loss of these systems increases the risk of a crash.
Dealers will reprogram the ECU software free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on December 15, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2513.
