Plain-English summary

Hyundai Motor America is recalling certain 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 'N' vehicles equipped with left-foot braking (LFB) and e-shift features. A software defect in the integrated electronic brake and vehicle control unit can cause reduced braking performance when left-foot braking is activated, and the vehicle may continue to accelerate unexpectedly after the pedal is released when the e-shift feature is engaged.

An estimated 1,589 vehicles are affected. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 25, 2025. Owners are advised not to use the LFB or e-shift features until the remedy has been performed.
