The recall affects vehicles with electronic brake control modules (EBCM) that were replaced during vehicle assembly. An estimated 3,241 vehicles are affected.

The issue involves the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly. The bolts attaching this assembly may not be properly tightened, which could fail to seal the two sub-assemblies. This allows water to enter the BPMV, potentially causing an electrical short circuit in the brake system.

Water intrusion and the resulting electrical short circuit create a risk of fire in the vehicle. Owners are advised to park affected vehicles outside and away from other structures until the recall repair is completed.
