This defect causes the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Control and Displays." If the interior switches are not illuminated, they may be more difficult to find and operate, which increases the risk of a crash.
The recall began on March 31, 2020. Dealers will update the instrument cluster software for affected vehicles free of charge. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
