The recall addresses a defect in the instrument cluster where the odometer accurately measures distance in miles but erroneously displays the unit as kilometers (km) instead of miles (mi) on the LCD screen.
An incorrect odometer reading could lead to an unintended delay in critical safety-related maintenance. This delay may impair the safe operation of the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash. The recall began on March 13, 2019.
Isuzu will notify customers and dealers to inspect the odometer LCD. If the display shows 'mi', the recall is deemed complete. If it shows 'km', the dealer will replace the meter cluster with one that indicates 'mi' and reprogram the new odometer to reflect the correct mileage.
