Plain-English summary

Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. is recalling certain 2022 model year FTR and FVR trucks. The recall involves a defect in the fuel system where the quick connector used to connect the fuel suction hose to the engine's fuel inlet pipe is too large. This larger diameter may cause inadequate sealing, resulting in a fuel leak. Additionally, the gap created by the oversized connector may allow air to be sucked into the fuel hose while the engine is running.

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire. Air intake into the fuel hose increases the risk of engine stalling, which in turn increases the risk of a crash. Isuzu has not reported any accidents, injuries, or deaths associated with this defect.

Dealers will replace the quick connector with the correct size quick connector free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 24, 2022. Owners may contact Isuzu's customer service at 1-866-441-9638 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 for more information. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2201.
