Isuzu and Chevrolet Commercial Trucks Recalled for Wire Harness Chafing

Plain-English summary

Isuzu Motors Limited is recalling certain 2025-2027 Chevrolet Low Cab Forward 5500XD, 4500XD, 4500HD, Isuzu NRR, NPR HD, NPR XD, and NRR EV vehicles. The recall addresses a defect where chassis and/or cab wire harnesses may chafe against metal components, leading to harness failure.

This defect may cause an engine stall or the brake lights and parking brake to fail, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, damaged wires may melt, increasing the risk of a fire. The recall is being conducted in three phases: Phase 1 for NRR EV vehicles (notifications mailed April 24, 2026), Phase 2 for Isuzu N-Series vehicles (notifications mailed May 22, 2026), and Phase 3 for Chevrolet LCF Series vehicles (notifications mailed July 10, 2026).

Dealers will add additional fasteners and inspect and replace the harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Owners will receive another notice once the remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2602.
