Isuzu and Chevrolet axle stabilizer bracket bolts can crack and break

Isuzu is recalling certain 2018-2026 Isuzu FVR and FTR and Chevrolet 6500XD and 7500XD vehicles because the axle stabilizer bracket bolts may crack and break, letting the bracket detach.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 4 covers structural vehicle defects: cracking bolts allow a suspension bracket to separate from a moving vehicle, creating a road hazard for other traffic.

Plain-English summary

Isuzu Motors Limited is recalling certain 2022-2026 Isuzu FVR, 2023-2026 Chevrolet 7500XD, and 2018-2026 Chevrolet 6500XD and Isuzu FTR vehicles. About 17,084 units are potentially affected.

The axle stabilizer bracket bolts may crack and break, allowing the bracket to detach from the vehicle.

NHTSA states that a detached axle stabilizer bracket can create a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the stabilizer bar brackets free of charge. This is a phased campaign, with Phase 1 covering Class 6 vehicles. Owner notification letters were mailed on December 12, 2025 to FTR and Chevrolet owners. Owners may contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
