Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2003-2006 Thomas Built Buses Minotour transit buses built on a Ford chassis and equipped with an optional wheelchair lift. The recall addresses a defect where a missing relay in the interlock wiring harness may allow the wheelchair lift to operate when the vehicle is in neutral or drive.
If the vehicle can be moved while the wheelchair lift is being used, there is an increased risk of injury. DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the wheelchair lift wiring and correct it as necessary, free of charge. Daimler issued an interim notification to owners on June 19, 2018, and the recall began on November 15, 2019.
