Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2007-2018 Thomas Built Buses Minotour transit buses. These specific vehicles were built on GM chassis and are equipped with wheelchair lifts.
The recall addresses a defect where the wheelchair lift may be operated while the vehicle is in Neutral or Drive. If the lift is operated when the vehicle is not in Park, there is an increased risk of injury to the lift user.
DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the wheelchair lift and correct the electrical connections as necessary, free of charge. DTNA issued an interim notification to owners on April 26, 2018, and the recall began on November 15, 2018.
