Prevost Recalls Coaches Due to Fire Extinguisher Malfunction Risk
Prevost is recalling 2010-2018 coaches equipped with certain Kidde fire extinguishers that may clog, require excessive force to activate, or detach nozzles.

Plain-English summary
Prevost Cars, Inc. is recalling certain 2010-2018 H3-41, H3-45, H3-45 VIP, X3-45, X3-45 Commuter, X3-45 VIP, and X3-45 VIP Entertainer vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with certain Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force to cause injury and render the product inoperable.
In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury. The recall affects 2,306 vehicles. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 11, 2018.
Prevost will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge.
