What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (improper welds on seat frames) that fails to meet federal safety standards and increases the risk of injury in a crash, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.

Plain-English summary

Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2016-2017 Nissan Rogue vehicles. The recall addresses a defect in the recliner joints on the lower seat frame for the rear seats, which may have improper welds. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) number 207, "Seating Systems," and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

The insufficient welds can increase the risk of injury to the occupants in the event of a crash. The recall began on December 6, 2017.
