Plain-English summary
Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2021 and 2022 Rogue vehicles due to a defect in the rear seat belts. The rear seat belts for the left and right rear seats may not retract properly.
Vehicles with improper seat belt retraction fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 208 (Occupant Crash Protection) and 209 (Seatbelt Assemblies). Seat belts that do not retract properly may be difficult to operate, which could prevent passengers from using them in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Approximately 8,391 vehicles are affected by this recall. Owners can contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 to schedule inspection and replacement of their rear seat belts at no cost. Owner notifications were expected to be mailed in October 2023.
