Plain-English summary

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) is recalling certain model year 2012-2016 FEC52, FEC72, and FEC92 trucks manufactured between February 4, 2011, and March 31, 2015, as well as 2012-2015 FGB72 trucks manufactured between June 22, 2011, and April 8, 2014. The affected vehicles are equipped with an optional cold weather PVC heater kit.

In these vehicles, the PVC pipe heater wiring may chafe on a metal clamp. This chafing can result in the wire short circuiting, which increases the risk of a fire. MFTA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the PVC pipe heater free of charge. The recall began on April 6, 2016.

Owners may contact MFTA customer service at 1-877-711-0707 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153). MFTA's number for this recall is C1008310.
