What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (brake system) where the source text explicitly states that overheated components can result in a fire, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.

Plain-English summary

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) is recalling certain 2024 Rizon FEC7K (E16) and FEC9K (E18) trucks, as well as 2025 Rizon FECXK (E18) trucks. The recall involves 244 vehicles. The defect is located in the electric parking brake (EPB) actuator, which may use a spacer that is too big. This results in excessive friction and overheated brake components.

Overheated brake components can result in a fire. MFTA will replace the EPB actuator. In addition, the brake assembly will be inspected for brake dragging and replaced as necessary. All repairs will be performed free of charge.
