Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 FEC52, FEC72, FEC92, and FGB72 trucks. The affected vehicles were manufactured between April 8, 2011, and July 22, 2014. A total of 9,456 vehicles are affected by this recall.

The recall is due to a defect in the fuel return hose. The hose may deteriorate if exposed to chemicals or lubricants, which can cause it to swell and detach. If the fuel hose detaches, a fuel leak may result, increasing the risk of a fire.

MFTA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel return hose and replace it with an improved hose as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on February 15, 2016. Owners may call MFTA customer service at 1-877-711-0707 or contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
