What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Plain-English summary

Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2015 Murano vehicles manufactured between December 4, 2014, and March 17, 2015. The recall involves 9,614 vehicles equipped with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) actuators that may contain contamination in the solenoid valves.

This contamination can prevent the valves from closing completely or opening fully, which may lead to a build-up or complete drop in hydraulic brake pressure. Under some driving conditions, when the ABS is activated, this malfunction could cause a loss of vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the ABS actuator as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on August 13, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
