Plain-English summary

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain model year 2015 Lexus NX200t vehicles manufactured between December 18, 2014, and February 2, 2015. The recall involves 3,013 vehicles equipped with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TRAC), and Vehicle Stability Control System (VSC) controlled by an ABS actuator.

A component inside the ABS actuator may have been damaged during assembly, which could cause the actuator to not function properly. Under some driving conditions, when the ABS is activated, this malfunction could cause a loss of vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash.

Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the ABS actuator, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on July 21, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
