Nomad Recalls 2013 Dispatch Trailers Due to Door Lock Jamming Risk

Nomad is recalling 2013 Dispatch 14A, 20SS0, and 16AS0 trailers because a door lock defect could jam the deadbolt, trapping occupants inside.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported, which aligns with the High severity criteria.

Plain-English summary

Nomad Global Communications Solutions is recalling certain model year 2013 Dispatch 14A, 20SS0, and 16AS0 vehicles manufactured between July and October 2013. These vehicles are equipped with Fastec-brand door locks that may allow the key to be removed in a way that jams the deadbolt.

If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. This could leave a person inside the trailer locked in and unable to exit, increasing the risk of injury.

Nomad will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. The recall began in March 2014. Owners may contact Nomad at 1-406-755-1721 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505.
