Plain-English summary

Cimarron Trailers, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2006-2012 NS, LS, SS, and SW livestock trailers manufactured between January 2006 and September 2012. The recall involves trailers equipped with a Fastec-brand door lock. The defect allows the key to be removed in a way that may jam the deadbolt.

If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. This could leave a person inside the trailer locked in and unable to exit without using the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury. The recall began on November 14, 2013.

Owners should contact Cimarron at 1-405-222-4800 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505. Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
