These vehicles are equipped with passenger flip seats where the weld retaining a reinforcement rod inside the seat back frame tube may fail. This failure allows the rod to fall out of the frame, causing the seats to fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 222 regarding school bus passenger seating and crash protection.
