HALO 1000 Portable Power Stations Recalled for Fire and Burn Hazards
About 5,740 HALO 1000 Portable Power Stations are recalled because their lithium-ion batteries can overheat and catch fire. One death from smoke inhalation and four fire incidents have been reported.

ZAGG Inc. has recalled approximately 5,740 HALO 1000 Portable Power Stations imported and sold between October 2021 and March 2022. The recalled units have model number PS-1000 and come in five colors: Stone Gray, Carbon, Desert Sand, Midnight Blue, and Woodland Green. They were sold by ZAGG, ACG, and QVC for between $1,000 and $1,300.
The recall was issued because the lithium-ion batteries in these portable power stations can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards that can lead to serious injury or death. The units are high-capacity battery power banks featuring USB-A and USB-C ports, AC and DC outputs, an LCD display, a built-in flood light, and a collapsible handle.
According to reports, a 79-year-old man in Bradenton, Florida died from smoke inhalation from a fire involving a recalled portable power station in his home in June 2022. In addition to this death, the firms have received four reports of fires involving the HALO 1000, including two reports of smoke inhalation, one of which included burn injuries.
