Cressi is recalling approximately 200 Ellipse Black MC5 scuba regulators. These regulators are used to control the flow of air while scuba diving, allowing divers to breathe underwater. The recalled units have "Cressi MC5" and "Cressi Black" printed on them.

The recall is due to a risk of partial obstruction of the High Pressure (HP) port, which can cause the pressure gauge needle to descend slowly and produce inaccurate readings. This inaccurate information poses a drowning hazard to divers. The company has received three reports of inaccurate pressure readings while the regulators were in use, but no injuries have been reported.

The regulators were sold at authorized dive shops nationwide and online from March 2009 through August 2009 for between $280 and $309. Consumers should immediately stop using the regulators and return them to a Cressi authorized dive shop for a free repair. They can also return the product to Cressi at One Charles Street, Westwood, N.J. 07675.
