Greenheck Fan Corp. is recalling approximately 1,500 Indirect Gas-Fired Furnaces, including models PVF, PVFH, IGX, IG, ERH, and ERCH. The recall is limited to units equipped with ignition control module model number 35-615922-125. The model name is located on the control center door or the furnace door, and the furnaces are fueled by either natural gas or LP gas (propane).
The ignition control module in these units can fail, preventing the furnace from shutting down during high-temperature conditions. This malfunction poses a risk of fire and the release of hazardous fumes from burning or melting insulation. No incidents or injuries have been reported to date.
These furnaces were sold by Greenheck sales representatives to mechanical contractors nationwide from November 2006 through October 2007 for prices ranging between $2,000 and $100,000.
