Each campaign is identified by an NHTSA Campaign Number (a string like 25V123000) and lists every make / model / year combination affected. The most common vehicle-recall categories are airbag and seatbelt failures (the consequence is non-deployment in a crash), fuel system defects with fire risk, steering or brake malfunctions, electrical defects in EVs that can cause battery thermal events, software bugs in driver-assist systems, and child-seat harness failures. Recalls for tires almost always relate to a tread-separation risk in a defined production date range.
Every NHTSA recall is mandatory for the manufacturer to remedy at no charge to the owner, with no expiration. If your vehicle has an open recall, your dealer is required to perform the remedy free of charge as long as the vehicle exists. Certain 2025 Freightliner and Western Star commercial vehicles may have improperly heat-treated tie rod assemblies that can fail, potentially causing loss of steering control and increasing crash risk.
Chrysler is recalling certain Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia models with incorrect tire placard information. Incorrect tire pressure or size specifications can lead to under-inflation or wrong tires, increasing crash risk.
Tiffin is recalling certain motorhomes because the wheel bolts for the spare tire may be missing. A spare tire without correct bolts could detach and increase crash risk.
American Honda Motor is recalling about 40,700 model year 2023-2024 off-road motorcycles (CRF50F, CRF110F, CRF125F) because the handlebar grip can detach, posing a crash and injury hazard. One crash resulting in a knee injury has been reported.
Chrysler is recalling 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio vehicles for a defective seat belt buckle switch sensor that may prevent front airbags from deploying. Dealers will repair the connection at no cost.
A battery management system failure in 2023-2024 Fisker Ocean vehicles can cause sudden loss of drive power. Fisker will replace the affected pumps at no cost.
Honda is recalling 2024 CR-V vehicles because the tires are missing required date code markings on the tire identification number. This prevents owners from identifying recalled tires and increases crash risk.
Lucid is recalling certain 2022 and 2023 Air vehicles due to a software fault that could disconnect the high voltage system while driving, causing loss of drive power and increasing crash risk. A free over-the-air software update is available.
Certain 2024 Nissan Sentra vehicles have windshield air bubbles on the front lower driver's side that can obscure the Vehicle Identification Number. This defect prevents owners from clearly identifying their vehicle and may prevent recall recognition.
