Kia Sportage instrument panel screen may fail due to software error
Kia is recalling certain 2023-2025 Sportage and Sportage Plug-In Hybrid vehicles with a 4.2-inch screen and a Kia tow hitch harness, because a software error may make the instrument panel screen fail.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 3 covers risk-of-harm where injury has not yet been reported: the failure is confined to the instrument display while the vehicle retains control, braking and propulsion, and no incidents are recorded.
Plain-English summary
