2026 International MV Trucks Recalled for Battery Short-Circuit Fire Risk

International is recalling certain 2026 MV medium-duty trucks because the battery interconnect cable may contact the auxiliary stud and hold-down bracket, creating a short-circuit fire risk.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (electrical short circuit leading to potential fire) where no injuries or incidents have been reported, fitting the High severity criterion. While fire is a serious hazard, the absence of reported incidents and the theoretical nature of the risk prevent a higher classification.
