Polestar 2 May Lose Brake Function While Using One Pedal Drive

Polestar Automotive USA, Inc. is recalling certain 2021 and 2024 Polestar 2 vehicles due to a software defect in the brake system hydraulic power assist control module. In certain driving scenarios while coasting downhill and using One Pedal Drive mode, the vehicle may lose brake function.
Loss of brake function significantly increases the risk of vehicle crashes. Owners of affected vehicles were notified by mail on July 18, 2025.
Polestar will provide a free over-the-air software update to resolve the control module defect. Until the update is installed, owners should not use the One Pedal Drive feature. Owners may contact Polestar's customer service at 1-800-806-2504 for questions or to reference recall number RP1061.
