2024 Polestar 2 driver-side air bag module improper deployment
Polestar is recalling certain 2024 Polestar 2 vehicles because clamps on the driver's side air bag module may be improperly crimped, causing the air bag to deploy improperly and reducing crash protection.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This is a safety-critical defect involving an air bag system that poses a direct risk of injury in a crash scenario. Although no illnesses or injuries are explicitly reported, the hazard involves a structural safety system failure (improper air bag deployment) that meets the rubric criterion for High severity: risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported.
