Volvo VN truck brakes may take longer than expected to activate

Volvo Trucks is recalling certain 2023-2025 New VN trucks because the brakes may take longer than expected to activate, extending stopping distance. This fails FMVSS 121.

The brakes may take longer than expected to activate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems".

NHTSA states that delayed brake activation can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
