2025 Kenworth T880 steering fasteners may fail and cause crashes

PACCAR Incorporated is recalling certain 2025 and 2024 Kenworth and Peterbilt commercial vehicles equipped with PACCAR 20k steer axles. The affected models include the 2025 Kenworth T880 and 2024 Kenworth T800 and T480, as well as multiple Peterbilt models (367, 389, 520, 548, 567). A total of 68 vehicles are potentially affected.
The steering arm and tie rod bracket fasteners on these vehicles may fail. If failure occurs, drivers could experience a loss of steering control, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.
PACCAR will notify affected owners and dealers will install new correctly torqued fasteners at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 21, 2025.
