Kenworth and Peterbilt commercial trucks recalled for steering assembly defect

The recall involves approximately 45,887 vehicles with potentially defective steering gear assemblies.
The steering gear assemblies in these vehicles may have been assembled incorrectly with fewer recirculating balls than required. This defect can result in loss of steering control, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.
Owners will be contacted by PACCAR, with notification letters having been mailed on March 20, 2024. Dealers will inspect and replace the steering gears as necessary, free of charge.
