Ford Mustang instrument panel clusters may not illuminate at startup

Ford is recalling certain 2024 Mustang vehicles because the instrument panel cluster may not illuminate at startup or while driving, failing FMVSS 101 and 102.

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2024 Mustang vehicles under NHTSA campaign number 24V802000. The potential number of units affected is 6,212.

The instrument panel cluster may not illuminate at startup or while driving. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, "Controls and Displays," and 102. According to NHTSA, an instrument panel display that does not show critical information, such as warning lights or vehicle speed, increases the risk of a crash.

Dealers will update the instrument panel cluster software free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 25, 2025.
