Toyota and Lexus vehicles recalled over instrument panel software display error
Toyota is recalling a wide range of 2023-2025 Toyota and Lexus vehicles because an instrument panel software error at startup can leave the display without critical information. 591,377 units are affected.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 3 covers risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported; the defect affects the instrument display rather than vehicle structure, and no injuries are reported.
Plain-English summary
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2023-2024 Toyota Venza, 2023-2025 RAV4 Prime, RAV4, Highlander, GR Corolla and Crown, 2024-2025 Lexus TX and LS, Toyota Tacoma and Grand Highlander, and 2025 Lexus RX, Toyota Crown Signia, Camry, RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid and 4Runner vehicles. The potential number of units affected is 591,377, under NHTSA campaign number 25V595000. The recalled component is the electrical system instrument cluster and panel.
Because of an error in the instrument panel software at vehicle startup, the instrument panel display may not show critical information. Toyota states that an instrument panel display that does not show critical information can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Dealers will update the instrument panel software over the air for non-plug-in hybrid vehicles, free of charge. For plug-in hybrid vehicles, dealers will inspect the instrument panel assembly and either replace it or update the software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 5, 2025.
