2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB Front Axle Drivetrain Rollaway Risk Recall
Mercedes-Benz recalls 2022 EQB 300 and 350 vehicles due to improperly welded front axle gears that may fail, causing vehicle rollaway and crash risk. Dealers will replace the front axle drivetrain free of charge.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC is recalling certain 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB 300 4MATIC and EQB 350 4MATIC vehicles. The front axle electric drivetrain contains a welded spur gear that may not have been properly welded during manufacturing.
An improperly welded spur gear can fail and result in vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash. These vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 114, which addresses vehicle theft protection.
The recall affects a total of 283 vehicles. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 9, 2024. Owners should contact their Mercedes-Benz dealer to arrange a free replacement of the front axle electric drivetrain.
