Mercedes-Benz is recalling certain 2025 E 350, E 350 4MATIC, E 450 4MATIC, and E 450 4MATIC station wagon models due to an improperly welded bracket. The defect may cause loss of vehicle control and increase crash risk.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The source identifies a structural vehicle defect (improperly welded bracket) with potential for loss of vehicle control and increased crash risk. However, no crashes, injuries, or fatalities have been reported. Per the severity rubric, with no incidents reported and a theoretical hazard, the score is capped at 3 (High).
Plain-English summary
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC is recalling certain 2025 E 350, E 350 4MATIC, E 450 4MATIC, and E 450 4MATIC station wagon vehicles. The camber strut bracket may have been improperly welded onto the rear axle carrier, which could result in separation of the bracket from the axle carrier.
If the bracket separates, the rear axle carrier may fail, causing a sudden loss of vehicle handling and control. This increases the risk of a crash.
Owners have been notified by letter as of January 22, 2025. Dealers will replace the rear axle carrier free of charge. In the meantime, owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the repair is completed. Owners can contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
