When the nuts loosen, the windshield wipers can fail completely, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. These vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 104 (Windshield Wiping and Washing Systems).

The affected vehicles are 2022 and 2023 model year Lucid Air sedans. Lucid estimates approximately 5,523 units are affected by this issue. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 25, 2023.

Owners should contact their nearest Lucid Service Center to have the wiper arm nuts inspected and tightened, with damaged parts replaced as necessary. This service is provided free of charge.
