Prevost H3-45 Turn Signal Light Failure Increases Crash Risk
Prevost is recalling 2022-2024 H3-45 and H3-45 VIP vehicles because the right front turn signal light may fail when activated. Inoperative turn signals and hazard lights reduce visibility to other drivers and increase crash risk.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The defect affects a safety-critical vehicle system (turn signals and hazard lights), but no injuries or crashes have been reported. This qualifies as a risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported.
Plain-English summary
Prevost Car (US) Inc. is recalling certain 2023-2024 H3-45 and 2022-2024 H3-45 VIP vehicles. The right front turn signal light may fail when the turn signal or hazard warning lights are activated. These vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, which governs Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.
When the turn signal light fails to operate, other drivers may not be adequately notified of the vehicle's turning intention. Similarly, inoperative hazard warning lights reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers. Both conditions increase the risk of a crash.
Approximately 93 vehicles are affected by this recall. Owners received notification letters in the mail on August 30, 2023.
