The recall addresses a defect where the caps covering the low-beam headlight horizontal adjustment screws are missing. This condition allows the headlights to be improperly adjusted, causing the vehicles to fail compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Improperly adjusted headlights may not illuminate the road properly or may cause glare to oncoming drivers, which can increase the risk of a crash. The affected vehicles include specific model years of the Cayenne (including S, Turbo, GTS, Turbo S, S Hybrid, S E-Hybrid, and Diesel variants), Panamera (including S, 4S, Turbo, Turbo S, S Hybrid, S E-Hybrid, 4, and GTS variants), Macan (including S and Turbo variants), Cayman S, Boxster, and Boxster S.

Dealers will inspect the headlights for sealing caps and install missing caps as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 28, 2022. Owners may contact Porsche's customer service at 1-800-767-7243 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236. Porsche's number for this recall is ANB4.
