Plain-English summary
Navistar, Inc. is recalling certain 2020-2023 IC Bus CESB school buses due to a defect in the engine control module (ECM). The ECM may set a fault code that causes the engine to shut down unexpectedly while the bus is in operation.
An unexpected engine shut down while driving increases the risk of a vehicle crash. Additionally, a disabled school bus may require passengers to evacuate in an uncontrolled traffic situation, which increases the risk of injury to students and staff aboard the vehicle.
