Cadillac CT4 and CT5 roof rail air bags installation defect

General Motors is recalling certain 2020-2022 Cadillac CT4 and CT5 vehicles. The roof rail side-curtain air bags in these vehicles may not have been installed correctly during manufacturing.

If air bags are not properly installed, they may not deploy correctly when activated during a crash. Air bags that fail to deploy as intended cannot protect occupants effectively, increasing the risk of injury or death in a collision.

Approximately 34,157 vehicles are affected by this recall. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 30, 2021.

Owners should contact their Cadillac dealer to schedule an inspection of both the left and right-side roof rail air bags. Any necessary reinstallation will be performed at no cost.
