Incorrect installation of the side curtain air bags could prevent them from deploying properly in the event of a vehicle crash. Air bags that do not deploy as intended can increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.
The recall affects an estimated 188,912 vehicles. Owners of affected vehicles received notification letters mailed on April 7, 2023. Kia dealers will inspect and reinstall the side curtain air bags as necessary, free of charge.
